Sukkien korjausta/ Repairing socks

Laitoin neulomiani villasukkia pesukoneeseen ja yksille kävi hieman köpelösti, kun sukkaparin alkuosat huopuivat. Molemmissa sukissa kaikki langat olivat sukkalankaa, mutta nämä langat huopuivat helpommin kuin muut langat. Leikkasin huopuneet osat pois ja neuloin vartta väärään suuntaan jatkaen uudet alut. Olin nimittäin neulonut sukat varresta varpaisiin, joten nyt oli neulottava toiseen suuntaan.

Huopuneen reunan irti saaminen leikkaamisen jälkeen oli aika työlästä, mutta onnistuin lopulta poimimaan silmukat ja neulomaan ihan siistit aloitukset. Neuloin alkuperäistä resoria 1 oikein takakautta ja 1 nurin 60 silmukalla n. 10-12 kerrosta. Päättelin silmukat lopuksi joustavan päättelyn avulla, mistä löytyykin netistä paljon videoita. Itse katsoin ohjeen Piia Maria Knit -videolta.

Olen aiemminkin päätellyt joustavasti, mutta vaikka se onkin helposti tehty, niin kyllä silti unohtuu, miten se tehdään, jos on ollut pitkä tauko. Mutta on kiva, ettei tarvitse sukkia roskiin heittää, jos pystyy neulomaan uusiksi alun tai kärjen.

I put wool socks that I had knitted to washing machine and part of the stalks of two socks unfortunately matted. All of the yarn in both socks were meant for socks, but this grey one matted and the others didn't. I cut of these malted parts and knitted stalks to different direction than originally. I knitted these socks from stalks to toes so now I tried to gather stitches to knitting needles and knitted new beginnings to the stalks.

It was quite difficult to cut the malted parts out, but I finally succeeded to gather stitches and knit pretty neat beginnings. I knitted the ribbing from the original socks with one knit stitch (k) form back and one purl (p) and I knitted like this with 60 stitches and 10-12 rows. In the end I fastened off all the stitches with loose ending-technique. There are lots of videos about this technique and here is the one I used Piia Maria Knit -video.

I have before used loose ending-technique but although it is an easy technique I still forget how to do it if it's been too long since previous time. But it's nice that you don't have to throw socks away if you can knit new stalks or toes.
